Long ball tactics

Is anyone finding long ball tactics useful in patch 10.3?

I'm finding that long balls played forward in the air are easily defended against actually, due to the fact that defenders are a lot more likely to win headers against strikers.

Same as Vic, I tell all my players to keep the ball on the deck and pass to feet. Of course, if you've got a team of players who are all over 6ft then long ball may be effective, but not many of my forward players are particularly tall or pose any serious aerial threat.

Long balls into space can work - my only defeat this season (8 games) came as a result of them hoofing a long ball into space with a quick striker latching on.

My team's passing stats suck, so I play a direct passing game and it works well enough, especially if I have a quick forward to run onto the ball. Whenever I try to play a short passing game, we end up giving the ball away to the other team too much.

Long balls work extremely effectively for me, considering i have Edin Dzeko and Carlton Cole up front

i keep getting killed by long balls all the time, always against the lesser sides, yet adriano and torres cant even get a shot on target in the same match.
