filcom101
just saw the england team that capello picked for 2010 world cup !!! these are the some of the players he picked !!! the stats are for all competitions...... Theo Walcott : apps 12(12), goals 3 Shaun Wright-Phillips: apps 20(5), goals 2 Carlton Cole: apps 20(8), goals 8 Michael Owen: apps 6(19), goals 5 Ashley Young:(inj 6months) apps 8(8), goals 1 Ben Foster: apps 11(2), CS, 5..... Peter Crouch: apps 20(15), goals 10 Emile Heskey apps 18(18), goals 6 mmmmm.... and these are the players he left out....... Joe Hart: apps 40, CS 12 Robert Green: apps 42, CS 15 Stewart Downing: apps 22(15) goals 7 Darren Bent: apps 35(5), goals 30 (26 league goals) !!!!!!! James Milner: apps 39 (3) goals 8, ass 18 !!!!!!!!! Bobby Zamora apps 42, goals 21 (18 league goals) !!!!!! Gabriel Agbonlahor apps 29(12), goals 20 (15 league goals) !!!! i think he pick a weak squad, picking Heskey or Owen (who both had average/poor seasons), ahead of Bent who had the season of his life !!!! and the less said about picking Ben Foster ahead Robert Green or Hart the better !!!! Administrators Neil Brock Posted March 4, 2010 Administrators Share Posted March 4, 2010 How many of these 'in-form' club players performed well on the international stage before the tournament?
AcidBurn
Is it weighted more on reputation than club form?
jammyjizz
i agree that owen and heskey should be left out. buuuut hes got a system in mind. i think he doesnt know how a few players would fit into it. milner has been amazing this season though. Suge
No idea why Ashley Young is picked ahead of Milner based on that form.
SCIAG
Reputation plays the biggest part. Heskey doesn't need to score to get picked. He's in the side for much more than goals.
