Absolutely gutted & why so many penalties against me?

I'm going to try to write this without it sounding like a rant, so I think I'd best keep it brief. Firstly I just want to share my grief at the latest game I played. Here is the screenshot overview (i've never tried to embed a piccy before so not sure if I can do it right, but here goes):

As you can see, the game started badly for Jody Craddock (I'm Orient), scoring an own goal. It was a very tough game, one where Southampton were pretty big favourites before the game. But the own goal was a good start for us, but the lead didn't last long. The penalty (which i'll rant about a little later) levelled for them. They then take a 2-1 lead, but we fight back to level again at 2-2. They again take a 2-3 lead on 78mins. I go all out for an equaliser, and sure enough on 85mins we get it. Then Zavon Hines scored a beauty to put us 4-3 up on 88mins. In the time it took me to change things to tighten up, they equalise - then 4mins into a suppsoed 3mins of injury time, that ****** Craddock pops up with a winner. Gutted doesn't come close - but it makes me feel a little better to get it off my chest, thanks for reading if you got this far.

Now I haven't posted on here for some time now as i've moved house and not had too much time on here. Since i've moved though i've recently started this new game with Orient. One thing i'm pig sick of though - we seem to concede a penalty in most games. I have no idea why this is. I have adequate defenders for this level, i'm not hard tackling, i'm not even tight marking half the time. Yet I have only had one penno this season. Anyone else having problems?

I've got so sick of Mettomo giving them away, I have put him on the list and sold him only 3 months after getting him on a free. His stats are good and I thought it was a real coup getting him, but the pen's he's been giving away are beyond a joke, so he had to go. Now it turns out a defensive midfielder of mine might be taking Mettomo's glory. He's given away 2 pen's now in 2 games.

Sorry, one more thing. We are having what seem decent appeals turned down every game too for penalties ourselves :-(

Tried changing your captain? his attributes (including the hidden ones) can affect your teams agressiveness etc.

I had a lot of penalties against me too and I stopped letting my assistant give opponent instructions. Worked like a charm - he wanted to tackle almost everyone hard.

Also, if it's always the same guy: easy tackling, less closing down and sub him if/when he's tired.

Well Kriss I really don't fancy changing my captain as I personally think as he's the only real experienced choice. But I might give it a try just in case. But doesn't changing captain disrupt harmony?

@Tomer: I don't even let my AssMan give instructions because of this reason. He was making my players get dragged out of position left, right and centre. And as it's becoming the same guy, he's my defensive midfielder - there aint much point in him being there if he can't tackle. So i've just put a bid in for a new holding midfielder. Shame he can't join for another 2 months tho.

The AssMan is the one that was here when I joined 3 months ago if that's what you meant. If it's the player, then yes, both culprits are new guys, but being ruthless I won't stand it any longer and will ship them both out in a shot.

They've really ruined my night now lol.

I'd say give him some time then. Players usually need some settling in. Maybe it's a language barrier or something. Pu him on easy tackling, don't close down too much and sub him when he's tired.

Don't pay attention to those appeals, there are appeals in nearly every game whenever a player falls over in the box even if the tackle is easily legitimate, much like real life i suppose.

If you want to know if the ref has made the right call have a look at the comment about the refs performance in the post-match analysis it will say whether he made any controversial decisions.

Good point Charlo, I wondered that whether they were just general hopeful appeals or really blatant ones.

@Tomer: Mettomo speaks fluent English, as does my Australian midfielder :-( Like u say, i'll get a new one lol.

i dont think its a bug as last season i was given 18 penalties throughout the season, the tackling is the main culrit and the players decisions, (how i take it) if he cant tackle and doesnt know when best to make a tackle he will give away alot of fouls

Could be down to fatigue causing mistimed tackles etc?

Having fast defenders would help a bit. Also the technique is important here. Defenders with poor technique tend to make more penalties, add low speed, and youll have a monster in your team.
