Stadium Expansion

I'm with Getafe in my fourth season, and want the board to expand my stadium. Last season they expanded to 25000 capacity, which I constantly filled out! This season I didn't spend any of my transfer budget, I thought that I might be able to persuade them to expand it more, but when i requested it they said that the local council would not give planning permission:(

Has this happened to anyone before? Am I likely to ever be able to expand my stadium more?

You will not be able to expand your current stadium but sometime in the future you can expect a new stadium.

It means they will not be able to expand it, however if they decide it is worth it they might decide to build a new stadium instead.

this happened to me. Got a new stadium, which was a whole 5000 seats more

Have this problem right now. Managed to get Stalybridge into the premiership and I still have a 7000 capacity stadium with only 2092 seated. Help!

you have to have to average your maximum capacity for a sustainable amount of time before you get a new stadium i saw in a another thread

I just joined Real Madrid in 2022 and they then announced a new 97000-odd stadium to be built for the end of next season, 'Casillas Stadium' I believe it will be called. Nice.

£36 Million? Congrats thats by far the most expensive thing in Stalybridge LOL! Wonder where they found space to actually build it!!

I don't know why you make such a big thing from building the new stadium. Trust me, I sometimes don't even know how many fans are coming to my games. Does it really matters? As long as I do my job, frequently bring good performances, why should I care? I won't get rich if I will have 2000 fans more at each game. I'd rather use those millions for players than for a new stadium.

That's one HUGE loan! I think they're going to have to construct enormous stilts and have it overhanging the whole town

When in the premiership with a 2,000 capacity stadium and 2 years away from a 25,000 capacity stadium, it matters. Quick progression in club stature you must accommodate for the demand and utilise the match-day income. It's blatantly obvious why a club would want to build a new stadium if they have the potential to exceed their current capacity my friend.

In my Arsenal save i'm in 2024 and we haven't had one expansion because of the lack of space. So i've kept on asking to try and get a new stadium out of them but have just noticed they have a stadium sponsor till 2031. Does this mean i have no chance of a new stadium till then?

Yeah good addition to the game as i'm sure i would have had one by now because we've averaged nearly full attendence every season.

Ok, if you have a 2000 capacity stadium and are in Premier League, it's understandable why, but when you are managing Real Madrid, for example, those 2000 in plus won't help that much.

Yeah, same here, Altrincham were actually closer to where I live but Stalybridge were a division lower so I went with them. It's taken me aaaages in this save (in real time) to get where I am, due to extensive scouting of players, but I've gone from Blue Square North in 09/10 season to Champions League football in 15/16 season. Looking forward to doing the same on FM11!

I was in the same position with everton then in 2018 they built holland park (after me) which holds 66000!

Just have patience..

I got two new stadiums with Farsley Celtic, including a ground share at Elland Road for a while in FM09. You do get them, but its just a case of waiting. Bring on the new stadium request option in two weeks time!
