Swedish League - contract extension

I have 2 players in my Gullringen side that I signed in 2009 , contract ending 2010 that are not of Swedish nationality.

I am now in 2010 and the Assistant Mgr has said that these two players are, amongst others in the last year of their contract.

For some reason though, I can extend the contracts of my Swedish born players but not of the one Iranian and one Lithuanian. The Iranian is only 17, the other 20 but when I try to offer them a new contract the YEAR bit is greyed out and I cannot change it.

Is there a reason behind this? Is there some obscure ruling that means I cannot keep foreigners over 2 seasons??

It has something to do with a rule that some foreigners can't get a contract longer then a year. I had this problem in 2009 from which this was the thread:

Thanks - it is 2009 I am playing.

Does this mean I will lose the player at the end of his contract or can I re-sign him once it expires?

I believe you can give him a new one-year-contract when there's 1 month or 1 week until his contract expires.
