more feedback on Ai teams not giving contracts to players?

from january 2011 i had been trailing franc ribery for my liverpool side as his contract was running out. he had wanted a substantiat amount of wages so i couldn't snap him up straight away but it got me thinking whether bayern had been offering him a contract to stay or not.

a bit more feedback would be nice and would also go someway to allaying my concerns as to whether the clubs attempt to hold onto their star players or not.

i have seen the odd news item that mentions a player has turned down a contract 'again', so in this instance, the absence of that news item suggests that no contract was forthcoming. would that be the case?

if so, i dont think it should be. we shouldn't need to guess that no contract has been been given. there would be news reports in real life stating that there's been no movement on the contract front.
