If the chairman gets too old, he'll definitely sell. IIRC there was an experiment on this using FMRTE. If you set the age of the chairman to 140 he still won't sell. The only thing affecting if he will sell is what the fans think of him and what he thinks of the club. This is in turn affected by how good the stats of the chairman is, which only goes down with age.
