Problems installing stem

I just bought football manager 2010. This is the first time i have bought on of this football manager series. When i tried to download the stem it said that i didnt have a windows installer or i had to verify that my windows instaler is there can anyone help.?

This instilation package could not be opened Verify that the package exist and that you can access it, or contact the application to verify vendor. To verify that this is a valid windows installer package. my computer uses vista basic. can any one help me fix this

Have you registered your Windows with Microsoft?

What happens if you press verify?

it says it wont let me install it there is an x and a ok. There is verify. is there anyother way i could play the game without stem

download STEAM instead..

also... you can install without steam from the cd

on the computer i use it wont let me download steam because i dont have a windows installer. How do i get the cd can i just contact stem. Or do i have to cancel the order and buy the cd copy.? help thanks

How did you buy it through steam if you don't have steam installed? I didn't know that was possible

download windows installer... download steam... download game... stop calling it stem and play the game nicely.... voila

you need to update windows you seem to be lacking an essential thing like the windows installer , you need to run windows update badly

if that doesn't sort it out

and then download and try to install steam

My computer isnt letting me install the windows installer so im probably just gonna cancel the transaction. Can you just delte the transaction on stem or is there more. Thats probably a question i should ask on the steam forum

again this is an issue with your system i think retail will have the same problem

so if i went to amazon and bought the cd i would still have the same problem. thats what i was thiinking of doing. lol

Do you have admin rights on the user account you are trying to install from? Windows Installer is a core engine of the Windows OS. It sounds like your Windows Installer may be corrupt, and if that's the case you will have similar problems trying to install anything.

If you know how to use the command prompt, you can type the following after navigating the prompt to the correct directory.

msiexec /i SteamInstall.msi /l*v .\install.log 

That will generate a log file of the installation process, named install.log.

no i dont think so. i can install every thing. The only other time this happened was when i tried installing itunes

And what can i do to fix it

I dont know how to use the command prompt is it easy to use or complicated. Also is there a way to uncorrupt my windows installer if it is. Or should i just call a professional and let him do it
