SI Staff Marc Vaughan Posted February 11, 2006 SI Staff Share Posted February 11, 2006 Hi, A few people have asked what tactical options are available in the PSP game so I thought I'd go through them in a bit more detail here: Team Instructions Emphasis - Attacking/Normal/Defensive Passing - Direct/Long/Short/Normal Tackling - Hard/Easy/Normal Pressing - Yes/No Offside Trap - Yes/No Counter Attack - Yes/No Men Behind Ball - Yes/No Captain - (player) Playmaker - player) Free Kicks (L) - Two players designated Free Kicks ® - Two players designated Corners (L) - Two players designated Corners ® - Two players designated Player Instructions Passing - Over-ride to team instruction Tackling - Over-ride to team instruction Pressing - Over-ride to team instruction Pass to - Where passes should be made to Set Pieces (A) - Where a player should be during attacking set pieces Set Pieces (D) - Where a player should be during defensive set pieces Free Role - Should the player have a free role to roam about the pitch? Forward Runs - Should the player make forward runs from his normal position when his team have the ball? Run with ball - Should the player attempt to dribble forward (and potentially take on players) when he has the ball? Hold up Ball - Should the player hold up the ball when he has it and wait for support? Long Shots - Should the player take long shots? Through Balls - Should the player look for creative passes to players? Cross Ball - Should the player look to cross the ball? Marking - Style of marking for the player? All of these have been present in one or more of our games in the past - if you want detailed explanations of the any of the terms though as usual just ask
