quininho09
I was talking with some mates earlier n we were just wondering, how long does the game go and how long is the longest career that someone has had within the game. I am currently on 2018 which is 5 and a half days worth of proper time, but im sure some of you lot have smashed that out of the water.

quininho09
logically i would have thought it has to end somewhere otherwise you could be a 100 year old manager lol.
Kalos
I've seen a 100-year long save on these forums.. was it FM09?.. I think the Manager was 130yo at the time

swed151
logically i would have thought it has to end somewhere otherwise you could be a 100 year old manager lol. You can play beyond 100 years, your manager just won't age past 100.
BobMUFC08
I've seen a 100-year long save on these forums.. was it FM09?.. I think the Manager was 130yo at the time 2008, he didn't get to 100 years till a couple of months after FM09 was released:D He did it with some really crap team iirc. medo24
The game can go on for as long as your computer can cope. There's no 'end date' so to speak. But as was said your age wont go past 100.
Tottiseiya
Seems to be 2218... Search, and you'll find the thread.
Cloud S
On FM09 i'm only up to 2020 but i've clocked up around 44 days in real time. I'm currently suffering from an unknown bowel disease so I never really leave the house, dam idiots at the NHS are useless. I just have FM running on the PC all day whilst I do other things, plus my PC is very slow.

Ellis_D
I played the game for 200 seasons, and then this message came up: 'Thankyou for playing Football Manager 2010. You have now completed the game. We hope you enjoyed the experience. Look out for Football Manager 2011, which will be released in October/November 2010. If you can't wait that long, why not start a new game on Fottball Manager 2010?'

Dinaldo
Neither do I. I'm in 2118 (No typo, 2118) and the game runs well enough and the game is still very fun. It has slowed by about 5 seconds, so I don't believe there's any truth in what he said...

Chelseazola25
FM2006 Chelsea manager. Currently on 2029-30 season. Chelsea are now the most successful team in history with 20 league titles, 19 FA cups and 10 Champions League titles. Everything is right in the world! karremansje
There is a thread on this forum, where some guy has holidayed his game ( I believe) until the year 3000, and still running....
lil ole me
It depends on what you mean long career. There are some poeple on here that might make it through only 5 seasons as it takes soooo long for one season. Any jo blow can pick a team, holiday and get the result and play 100+ seasons. Holteberg
The longest game I've seen was a guy from FM Norway who played as far as 2089 with his local team, on FM10. I know he's been playing all those seasons since he wrote a game report with two long updates every season. Crazy guy. Here is is - off course in the hall of fame section: http://www.fmnorge.com/index.php/topic/10964-anbefalt-tromsdalen-uil-et-eventyr-uten-like/
g00n
The longest I've played is 2067/68. I hope to way exceed that on my current save on FM08, as I don't really have any intentions of playing the newer versions anymore.
hugo_rune
In FM2011 I played two one-club saves for over 15 seasons, and I'm almost at 20 seasons with my current FM2012 save, on to my third club though. In the LLM world, iajafer played one save for 67 seasons, actually having a sort of 'dynasty' of managers to keep it realistic: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/247752-FM11-Swansong

hluraven
My longest was into the 2040s with FM11. I always wait until the final patch, then start with Bromley. I play until I win everything and there is no challenge, normally this is in the 2020s, but I only won the Premier in the 2040s with FM11, and not until FM12 was out so this was definitely my record. About 28 days real time, and that was when I had a job, now I'm unemployed I may well beat that with FM12.
Baldyloxxx
I once got up to 2024 which is amazing for me. Due to the game play slowly decaying as you go on I rarely do more than 10 seasons.
smallclone
I find that once I get to a big club like Barcelona, Man Utd etc then I can only play a few seasons until I feel like I've completed the game. In FM2010 I had an epic Save where I was: Shrewsbury, Middlesborough, Stuttgart, Everton, then Real Betis where I won La Lga, then Won La Liga with Real Madrid 5 times in a row and then felt I had the most ultimate team I could ever assemble. Played till about 2028 I think This is a screenshot I love though. Not mine:
x42bn6
I'm up to 2096 in my FM08 Triestina save. Very little holidaying, if at all. And my PC is a Core Duo (yes, not even a Core 2 Duo) T2400 laptop with 2 GB of RAM. So it is quite slow.
Ackter
I hit the early 2070s in my FM11 save, and made it to the 2030s on FM12, but I haven't been back to that save for a while so will probably start a new one when I get around to it.
Metagod
Sadly I believe the game to more easily attain bugs and crashes as you go beyond 10 seasons Saves corrupt and other things... The best FM experience is to take a completely unknown team and win big things, but this always takes time to do, and its sad to lose such games.
Smurf
Never in my life have encountered bugs/crashes beyond 10 seasons, ever. I've gone for 70 seasons and the game works like a charm.
