dafuge
This is the place to query it if you really think he is overrated.
backpackant
A) he just put 4 past a team in real life. B) you have to give him special attention in FM. Don't know why - yes, he's overrated on the game - but you do. In fact, when any player puts a couple past you early on (I'm assuming he got a couple of early goals) you need to change your tactics accordingly. Whenever I play Chelsea, Lampard seems to play immediately behind the striker and has some sort of free role in which he becomes a magician or straight-up wizard. I find marking him tightly with hard tackling helps negate his witchcraft (not man-marking, tho - he exploits that).

So it's not a very fair comparison is it? B)Does this imply a bias in the researchers? They like him because he scores tap-ins, therefore he gets better stats than he deserves...? And if he can be overrated in FM, there's no saying who else might be too.
Sweeney-G
how on earth can u compare IRL derby to Manchester United, come on open your eyes. Cheers backpackant i will use your information wisely and kick lamaprd off the pitch next time haha
meriadoc
Hey, read the posts carefully! That's why I said it is not a fair statement by backpackant!
macca69
I think if youve conceded 7 as man utd, your a pretty poor tactician, and how can people say lampard is overrated. His goal to game ratio is awesome for a midfielder.
duck my sick
Sweeney-G - Tell me about it! That's like comparing Barnsley to Chelsea or Liverpool ... wait a minute
macca69
And as i say that im watching football focus and some bloke who uses statistics to calculate who will the title - and has been right for the past 5 seasons, has said lampard is chelseas best player. Sweeney-G
to be honest i dont mind if he plays for chelsea week in week out, i dont mind, all that im worried about is him playing for england again, god forbid the day that fool wears the famous strip again
macca69
Id rather Lampard paly tahn Wayne 'Ruin our world cup chances' Rooney.
TheRandomGuy
Derby or not it's still FOUR goals from midfield. The likes of Ronaldo, Torres, Adebayor, Rooney, Berbatov etc have all played Derby and none of them have got four goals. When he's bad, he's bloody woeful, but when he's on form he is an utterly fantastic player. Oh and btw, he's not fat.
Sweeney-G
he isnt fat???? thats just like saying tevez isnt made out of jelly
TheRandomGuy
Congratulations on ignoring the main point of my post and responding with something even stupider. On second thoughts, probably less stupid as unlike "omg fat frank lolz" you thought of that one yourself.
meriadoc
Looks like some manc fan hates Lampard and decides to yell away on this board. Yeah, like what macca69 said, how the **** do you concede 7 against another team using Manchester United? You must be playing Rooney in goal... ShaunO1
Was that the vintage year the featured amazing matches against the like of Azerbaijan managed (a stunning 2-0 win after drawing at half time) (Wales 1-0 pounding)and Northern Ireland(lost 1-0). what a great year that was. Good job we have the big game players like frank lampard who can raise the game when needed)
TheRandomGuy
The best of a bad bunch. Really baffles me how people think Lampard's a poor player.
Sweeney-G
its not just frank lampard, every english player involved in the apauling euro qualifers does not deserve to wear the shirt again.... No wonder the prem is filled with foreigners, its because english footballers reach championsip standard only, the reason??? because when Brazilians etc are training hard at the ages of 14-18 to get themselves good, the young english players are out on the drink and clubbing night in night out. Mike7077
I'm with Ched. This is just an awful thread. And I really don't see why the original poster had to be so rude about Lampard. He's far from my favourite player, but on a forum about FM, the whole 'Fat Frank' thing is plainly pathetic.
Schotsmannetje
In my opinion, if you're able to concede 7 goals as Manchester United (no matter who the opposition may be), it is your own fault! You definately must have done something wrong.
