data editor query

hey folks,having major trouble with data editor.everytime i update a player to a different club etc and save it,when i start a new game it doesnt have the updates i saved on the game.i dont know what this 'merge editor data' thing is either..anyone help me?

Step by step guide on how to use the Editor:

1. Open the editor and load the database.

2. Edit what you want to edit.

3. Save your edited database add-on. Do NOT save it over the config file and do NOT merge any databases.

4. Open the game and click 'new game'.

5. A pop up box should appear (if it doesn't, delete the config file).

6. In the pop up box, tick the box marked 'change', and continue.

7. You should be taken to a screen where your edited database is listed. Make sure your database is selected, and continue.
