Do SI ever edit player attributes in patches

I know that this can be done manually but this feels kind of like cheating.

Swindon are my home town team and they signed Charlie Austin from Poole Town. So his attributes are poor. He's scored 9 goals in the last 10 league games so he's obviously better than his attributes suggest.

So I just wondered whether in cases like this players can be improved or made worse in patches.

They do. If you feel players need adjustment, have a look in the Data Issues part of the forum.

There is a new updated DB after the January window in the subsequent patch, and 10.3 should be no different. Changes are likely to be made, but maybe you could take up any specific issues with the Swindon researcher in the data forum.

The december and february patches come with data updates..... so players can be edited (not by "SI" though, by the corresponding club/nation researchers).

The "December patch" (if there is one) generally doesn't have attribute-based updates, only transfers and staff appointments usually.
