"Preparing to launch Football Manager 2010" = Steam is being a wheelbarrow

Quite simply, this is what I get when trying to load up the game. Horribly annoying, especially as there is no way around it like there was on FM09.

I know another user in OTF is suffering from the same issue as well, was wondering if it's a widespread/common problem and if there is an easy fix?

Sorry Neil - I did a bit of tinkering and it's OK now. Was probably a minor blip, annoying though.

Neil- I have the same problem as Pouncer, and tried what you said, but no luck:(

I had this a couple of days ago; just restarting the computer solved it for me.

Try opening directly from the exe at the following location:

Computer > Local Disk C: > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > football manager 2010 > FM2010.exe

Don't think that works this year, fella.

OP - either set up Steam to run offline (launch Steam, go to file menu) or install via disk and leave the disk in the drive. Should be quicker either way in my experience.
