Bradmonk
Ok, this may be moved over to the tactics forum but I'm curious as to how may tactics people deploy in their matches. Since I have one tactic which I stand by religiously, and has bought me great success (from BSS to ELP and FA Cup double in twleve seasons). Only making very minor tweaks as I've risen up the divisions and to accomodate better/different players (mostly adjusting creative freedom or asking my right footed AML to cut inside as I would ask my left footer to hug the touchline). I dont set a generic tactic for my team, but set each players tactic individually, using sliders (wasn't too impressed with the tactics creator). I dont have any 'backup' tactics to deploy in reaction to in game situations as I'm confident my team will always grab a goal from somewhere when needed, nor do I want to interrupt the flow of my team by changing to tactics they are not used too. Are backup tactics useful? As I'm starting to think I should have a couple other tactics to help my team progress further. Any input is most welcome
chob
Just a simple 4-4-2 almost set at default as i'm not very good on the tactical side. that said it's quite strong.
speople
I operate a 3 (central defence), 2 (central midfield) 2 (attacking wingers) 3 (central striker) formation. And don't change it even when only 1-0 up with 10 mins to play, as prev experience on FM2010 has shown that you will nearly always get screwed if you change your formation. (Unlike CM4 where you could happily go 5, 4, 1 and hold on to your lead all day long)
Bradmonk
tactics please, not formation
Wee Aja
3: Standard, Defensive and Attacking variants of my formation. Each tweaked occasionally in-match.
Chongtom
I have 2 tactics, 1 home and 1 away. I used to have an extremely defensive 4-6-0 tactic which i employed for the last 15 mins in tight games and an extremely offensive 4-2-4 in previous FM's but i haven't been bothered to create one this time which explains why i've found it more of a struggle. Crazy Billy-Jay Jones
Just the one. It can be offensive and defensive, so it's ideal at home or away.

Tubey84
At least six variations of the same tactic, and two other formations with another six variations each if I feel we need a change at any point in the season.
Bradmonk
bloody hell! I bet you spend more time in the tactics screen than you do the match screen
Tubey84
bloody hell! I bet you spend more time in the tactics screen than you do the match screen Yep ^^ If I take an early lead I generally just let the game flow, but if I notice something in the first 15 minutes that can be corrected (say the opposition is deeper than I expected) then I'll swap to a differing tactic (one that employs more play down the flanks and slightly more long range shooting rather than through balls). HotshotUK
Two tactics I used are Home 3-1-2-2-2(attacking) and away - 3-2-2-2-1(defensive)
Bradmonk
Hmmm.... looks like im going to have to do some tinkering.
Jirki88
I usually play a standard 4-4-2 but make tweaks to the player instructions occasionally. Sometimes, if need be, I go down to a 4-1-4-1 instead.

JoeCFC
I keep my tactic the same but will tweak it if it's not working in a match.

Kain
I use just one now, that I tweak, depending on the opposition. Started off my career with a different formation and tactic, but changed when it stopped working and the new one's doing well.
Tomer
Just the one 3-4-3 Control.
Neopherus
4-4-2 against "normal" teams, 4-5-1 against stronger teams and 4-2-2-2 against weaker teams. I also vary width and d-line depending on the pitch size.

AlanBSArds
I use a fairly offensive tactic and only change in the last 10 mins to a defensive if there is only the one goal in it. Have started to use the touchline instructions with good success especially the overload option if I find myself 1 down
ManUTactician247
I base my tactic on my opponent's weaknesses
swed151
I develop a tactic before the season begins based on the players I have and pretty much stick with it. I never change midseason because I think it disrupts the continuity.
flashback790
Just a simple 4-4-2, with strategies changed depending on the strength of the opposition. I do have a 4-2-3-1 for the last 10mins with a lead in tight games, a 4-3-3 for when i'm losing and a 4-1-5 for a last 10min need a goal pump the ball upfield strategy. Shanksie1975
For the first 3-4 seasons i had 3 that i used: 442 control, a 424 attacking and a 451 def counter. However as my squad got better I've just stuck with a tactic that is some where in between the first 2, a 424 control.
