operations

Recommended Posts

I saw today in the local paper that Joe Ledley (Cardiff) will have an operation on both of his hips at the end of this month and then will probably be out for the season.

It got me thinking, this happens a lot in football where players have long standing injuries but dont always have an operation that is required straight away. This is obviously for problems which players can deal with in the short term but need treatment/operations in the long term.

I do not believe this is in FM, where you are informed that a player has a long standing injury that will require treatment and it is up to the player and the manager with the advice of the physio to decide when is best for him to get treatment.

I think this is an interesting feature as it is another test for the manager, to judge the situation in terms of the player's long term fitness, his importance to the team and the run of games that are coming up in balance with the length of recovery time he will need.
