Captain as tutor

I'm trying to get my captain to tutor one of my young players and he is not available to be selected in the drop down menu, just one of the other players in that position. Is this a glitch or has it be done on purpose this year?

It does this some times with me too,i want a certian player to tutor a player but he's not on the drop down list.

Is your captian tutoring anybody else? They can only tutor one player at a time i think, so that could be why.

ive seen it before that certain people are just omitted from the list for no reason at all. its very much the same as talking about replacements in press conferences. its a bit strange.

No hes not tutoring anyone else, this is the only thing I can think of...

If they aren't of same/similar positions it's sometimes not available (i had to train my AMR to also play AML to be able to tutor a young AML player...which seems like a bug to me), or if the player you want to be tutored is of higher reputation than the player you want to tutor him (the youngster) you won't be able to.

Either the Tutor or the tutee must be a natural in the position that they share, not just accomplished.

For instance in my team, I can tell my MC/AMC (who's a natural AM), to learn from my AM/FC (who's a natural ST and accomplished AM)

But I can't tell My AMRLC, who's a natural AMR, to learn from the same AM/FC, unless I first train one of them to be a natural in the AMC position

Ok ill nip this theory in the bud. I'm trying to get Gary Neville to tutor Rafael, so they're both natural DR's. And Neville doesn't show up on any of the DR players drop down menus. I'll take away his captaincy next year and see if that helps.

Would it be a hidden "Work With Youngsters" attribute, and this same attribute is then visible once the player goes into coaching/non-playing role?

Too close in CA or reputation is your likely solution. Captaincy doesnt affect tutoring, I think. Or is he already tutoring someone?

Can't be too close in CA or else he would show up on the drop down menus of the DRs in the U18s. He's definitely not tutoring someone else. It must be a glitch, what a waste of a tutor!
