Kicking it Old Skool

Recommended Posts

Was at my parents' place helping them move the computer desk... As I took the draws out to help move it I found my copy of Championship Manager 2001/2.

I took it home, installed it, (was surprised to see it working on Vista as most of my old games don't) and played it for a good while...

What a blast from the past it was...

The simplicity of the transfer market, training and tactics was crazy.

Leeds and Southampton were in the Premiership.

But most of all I was amazed by the players...

Arsenal still had Seaman, Dixon, Adams, Keown, Vieira, Bergkamp, Luhzny, Grimandi, Edu. And the reserves had Pennant, Sidwell and Sebastion Larrson.

Carew was still at Valencia, Beckham at United, Owen at Liverpool (and still good)... Albert Ferrer at Chelsea. Zola was still a player and Mark Hughes had a job.

Fabregas, Torres, Iniesta and Carlos Tevez were nowhere to be seen.

There was no Coca-Cola Championship and major games were played at the Millenium Stadium...

It all seems so long ago but it was right there in front of me for a brief time last night...

You really gotta love kicking it Old Skool.
