Homegrown players

I am currently in the Championship and need four homegrown players in my matchday squad. I have a multinational squad with quite a lot of young players. Some of these youngsters have achieved homegrown status, while others, who've been at the club and in England for longer, haven't.

For example, my 19-year-old Romanian first-choice striker (a regen) has been at the club (and in England) for 599 days, but is not listed as homegrown, while a Spanish striker (not a regen) I have in the reserves, also 19 (and also never trained in England before I signed him), has only been at the club for 463 days and yet is listed as homegrown.

What's going on?

Nope! Seems to have picked up the language a bit quicker, though...

Thanks, but it's for matches, not European registration...

I have enough other homegrown players to reach the requirement, but my team would be stronger with others.
