DDRickyDD@hotmail.com
I am Liverpool and we were hosting Man United in a Premiership match, for some reason we were playing in our away kit while Man United were playing in their red strip. In real Football when two teams kits are the same colour the away team always wear their second strip. Hence the term 'Away Kit'. Is this a bug in the game? Ascanius
It happens a few times in real life.
gunner86
As above but normally if the home kit clashes with both the aways teams home and away kits though.
baker.simon
It happens a few times in real life. Like? As above but normally if the home kit clashes with both the aways teams home and away kits though. Isn't that the point of 3rd strips?
gunner86
Isn't that the point of 3rd strips? Generally yes, but not all clubs have them. Especially once you leave the top flight.
Ascanius
Boro v Palace in the Prem a few years ago. It happened at a Man City v Boro game as well, but god knows why. Last game of the season, maybe they wanted to show off next year's kit or something.
SmithRDFC
Third kits are need if the colour of home and away are too similar, Rushden and diamonds changed their kit a few years back Red home and Blue away, the blue kit got rather white two seasons later so they were forced to bring back their yellow kit as a third kit. Now normality has returned and they play in white(home) and yellow(away) again, no need for a third kit now. not sure the exact rules however. DDRickyDD@hotmail.com
As above but normally if the home kit clashes with both the aways teams home and away kits though. If that happens the kit designer hasn't done a very good job. The Away kit should be completly different to the Home kit so they can't clash.
minisav
Bit harsh if the other team has stripes that use both of them? Such as Newcastle coming up against a team with black home and white away.
StevoRobbo
Bit harsh if the other team has stripes that use both of them?Such as Newcastle coming up against a team with black home and white away. that happens all the time. look when man utd play anybody in red and white stripes. Normally have to wear the blue/black third kit (unless we play southampton then we can wear the invisible kit )
minisav
Exactly, hardly poor kit design as red and white clash. And isn't the 3rd kit meant to be for European competitions mostly?
StevoRobbo
no a third kit is purely for when your home and away kits can both clash. You need a completely different alternative. That why man utd always have a blue/black third kit because there are quite a few teams that play in red AND white
minisav
Just Aberdeen didn't use one until we got into Europe. But that's because nobody in Scotland clashed but somebody in Europe might. Turns out it was a good idea as we play in red at home and white away (I reckon SAF likes those colours ) and we ended up playing Atletico Madrid! So you could either wear your red or white kit
DDRickyDD@hotmail.com
Bit harsh if the other team has stripes that use both of them?Such as Newcastle coming up against a team with black home and white away. Then they should know that they would clash with Newcastle and have enough sense not to have a white away kit.
minisav
Yes because everyone has to change because of one team? I don't think so.
