FM taking a long time to load

This is not a complaint about in game speeds but rather about the time it has started taking to reach the main menu screen after running it from the desktop.

I know it's not a game breaking problem, but at times it's taking up to 5 minutes to get onto the main screen after choosing to run the game. It's never happened on previous versions on FM where I could be on my squad page in around a minute.

Anyone else have this and is there any possible way to speed up the initial load time?

Custom skins and graphics can increase loading times significantly iirc. Do you have any installed?

Yeh, but I was using pretty identical graphics on 09. I thought that increased loading times in game? No complaints about them.

They shouldn't have any significant impact in game, but the loading of graphics and skins on startup can take time. As for an increase from 09, I can't really explain that without knowing more.

Mine takes an eternity to load too. I do not have any custom graphics.

It sits on the screen with all the different languages for the word "loading" like "carrigar" etc.

I would say a good 1 to 2 minutes just on that screen.

The game however is fine.

2.8ghz quad core here, 4gig ram.

Do you have 'use skin cache' ticked?

If not, the game is loading your graphics every time you start it, which will take a while.

And if you want to let the game start even faster, you can always delete the movies that run when you start the game.
