Rohkey
A few games ago I noticed there was a player on my team, greyed out, who I had never heard of. Some 20 year old keeper (can't remember name), who had pretty abysmal abilities and either had no value, or very little value. He was 'content with his role at the club.' A week or so later, I tried to find him and he was gone. Anyone have an explanation?
Ditmar van Nostrilboy
Yes, if you have no keepers available, the game plucks some random player for that position to allow you to have cover for it. Think of it like an emergency loan from a local team's reserves.
Gandy
Are you managing a lower league team? I've gotten this once before with Woking in BSS.

Rohkey
Managing Chelsea, and I guess that makes since (the emergency keeper loan) but when a couple seasons ago I had an even worse situation - both Cech was injured, Delac was suspended, and Enyeama had just been sold, so I had to use some bum 17 year old as my starting keeper for 2 games. If I didn't get an emergency keeper then (when I literally had 2 keepers in my entire system available, since I had just done a clean sweep of my team and was looking to sign some more players), why would it give me one now? My starter was healthy, I have 4 promising 16-19 year olds in my reserves and U18s, and had no injuries.
Yid Army
I think it happens if you only have one in your first team squad.
