Easy way around transfer requests?

I found that it's relatively simple to get around a players transfer request (in the long run) by accepting it, and then setting his asking price at an astronomical amount. This deters would be buyers until the player asks to be removed from the transfer list, and all is good again. Is this the way it was meant to be? Because if so, it makes transfer requests nothing much to be afraid of and slightly pointless.

Yeah, this has been known about for some time. Doesn't always work, as sometimes teams come in and offer a few million above the player's actual value (not your asking price) and the idiot chairman accepts on your behalf.

I prefer to just annoy the player and reject his transfer request. I did this with Bendtner and he didn't seem to react very badly at all.. He just had a concern that he think's he needs to move elsewhere or something like that; he never really complained..

Yes, I always just reject his transfer request too.

If he's requesting a transfer chances are he is unhappy anyway.
