Scouting position

Hi there!

I was playing FM 2009 last night and one of my scouts recomended a player who was a cb/st. When I checked his preferred positions, he was better at attacking and his stats are great for that role. (Finishing - 17 / Composure - 18 / Off the ball - 17 / Positioning - 18 / Technique - 17 / Heading - 16)

However, my scouts always send me reports about his defensive skills when he is obviously a striker and I can't know how he plays without having to watch him play.

Correct me if I am wrong but is there any way I can solve this?

On the scout report screen there should be a drop down menu to the top right, where you can select the different positions a scouted player can play. Select the one you want and you'll get a report detailing how good he is in that position.

I tried that and also tried with different scouts and so far I had no feedback on his attacking skills... I guess I'll try with all my scouts and if that doesn't work, I'll have to watch some of his matches.

I just want to make sure because he has very convincing attributes

Maybe use a scout with a high 'attacking' stat?

I think you can only see how well a player performs in his other positions once he's actually at your club.

Not much use if he wants to know how good the player is before he commits himself.
