Cannot release 16 year olds on a free

As the title says.

I'm posting here because I'm not sure if it's a bug or some new rule which prevents you from releasing them. There is no "release on a free" option for players aged 16 or under.

Playing FM10.2 with Arsenal.

Is this a bug or not? And if it's not, is there some workaround so you can get rid of the players you don't want, pronto?

I can release 16yo's on free - right click -> Transfers & Contracts -> Release On A Free.

Any chance you've agreed to give the player a full-time contract when he turns 17? As I'd imagine if you've done that then you cannot release them until they have signed the new contract.

Thanks Michael, lol. I'm starting my first proper, hopefully long-term game, so I hadn't messed about with contracts/releasing players etc until now. So far I had just pressed continue and played some matches to try the game out.

Seems all the under 16's are provisionally agreed to sign contracts, from the start of the game. So that's okay.
