michaeltmurrayuk Posted December 27, 2009 Share Posted December 27, 2009 What version of the game have you purchased - boxed version or one of the digitial download versions? What patch did you apply to the game? If you have purchased a boxed version of the game then you don't need an activation key unless you are linking the game to your steam account, if it's asking for an activation key then I'm guessing you have downloaded the wrong patch, uninstall the game and reinstall and apply the boxed version patch. If you have purchased a digital download version then you'll need to contact the company you bought the game from to see where the key is stored - it may have been emailed to you or it may be located on their website. djwilko6 Posted December 27, 2009 Share Posted December 27, 2009 It sounds like you've installed a boxed version of the patch into a Steam installed version of the game. Steam will automatically download the patches for you (you can turn this off), installing over it will cause the error you are experiencing. You need to reinstall the game to fix this.
