Assigning squad numbers to u21s (England)?

Right, so I'm only allowed 25 players in my squad but I can supplement that with as many u21s as I want... So why am I not allowed to give them numbers before matches? This leaves me stuck with automatic numbering for the u21s.

Is this intended, a bug, or just me not understanding how to assign the numbers?

This is starting to get annoying. I watch in 2D so I get used to players having set numbers.

Any ideas?

I'm also surprised this hasn't been brought up more by others, it bugs me too, fortunately I have enough room left it my squad to give the ones I want numbers but would like to see if fixed in the next patch

i agree. i think their should be 2 numbering processes. 1 to assign each player a number and then another 1 to pick which 25 players you want as your squad. that way all unregistered u21 players will have their own squad number

Yeah I agree, I think it should be like Champions League registration where you register players and then I think the squad numbers should be different!

Its not a bug. It is the way its been coded. In fairness to SI, the EPL haven't announced how their squad limit system will work next season yet so they couldn't code it.

And it most certainly has been mentioned before, there must be about a dozen threads on this.

Cheers for the info. I might mess around with the editor and see if I can remove the rules and maybe replace them with a minimum number of U21s in a matchday squad. Is that possible?
