ash1986ash
Hi all, Just bought the game today (retail copy), and immediately downloaded patch 2.0 as I didn't want to start a game without all the fixes. I've installed, and now it's asking me for a validation code (which is checked online) which is annoying, as I don't want to play online, and the manual says I don't need an internet connection to play. Anyway I've entered the code on the back of the manual but it's saying invalid code 1003 error. What can I do? Really annoyed, I had similar problems last year, and I won't get chance to play it after tonight until boxing day!
mikeimp123
Uninstall and then try and install the game again and then re-download the patch as the file may be corrupt.
Almondo
as mikeimp says uninstall and reinstall then redownload the patch. The code on the back of the manual is only needed if you are installing via Steam which will also give you the latest version of the game.
ash1986ash
I tried reinstalling the game a couple of times. Due to lack of patience i am now playing without the patch (works fine) but I'd still like to use it at some point. Can't see how re-downloading it would make any difference as it installed the patch fine but just asks for a code which I have no idea where to find?? Almondo
Just thinking ash did you download the correct patch for your version of the game? as I believe that the wrong version can cause the problem you've got with the patch.
ash1986ash
just downloaded again from a different source and it has indeed solved the problem ... the filenames were the same but the sizes were 1mb different ... strange. thanks for your help anyway, much appreciated !
