Player "Considering his options"

Weird one this.

I signed a player on a free, not realising that he wouldn't be available until 1st July 2010 as he is studying (it's currently 1st May 2010).

Shame as he should be a decent player. Didn't think much else of it, but in the recent press conference I was asked if I was going to sit down with the player to discuss his concerns of wanting a bigger role in the team.

Odd, I think, as the guy is unavailable, but I check his status and sure enough he is "considering his options" and "feels he deserves a more important role in the team".

Not sure what to do, if he was available he would definitely be in my first 11. His squad status is "Indispensable", but no idea what I can do to cheer him up.

Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a bug tbh. I can understand him being unhappy at not being unable to play, but not at the team/the manager.

As for what you can do, try offering him a new contract, and seeing if there's any chance to interact with him and promise him football.
