Eugster
I have read in some thread's, paeople signing players that they can't afford over 48 months, but it just says I don't have the funds when I try to do it. Is there a trick to it? Thanks

Deisler26
You need to have at least a quarter(?) of the transfer price in the kitty for a 48 month deal
HunkOfJunk
You have to have 1/2 of the the bid in your funds. E.g £40mil over 24 months you need £20mil in transfer funds.

Coen
To be precise, you need whatever element of the payments will fall due in the first 12 months to be available in your current years transfer budget. So if you sign someone over 48 months, the first 12 months payments have to be available from your current transfer budget - which means you would need to have 12/48 or 1/4 of the total available in your transfer budget. If you sign someone over 24 months, again the first 12 months payments have to be available from your current transfer budget so you have to have 12/24 or 1/2 of the total in your transfer budget. If you sign someone and pay, say, £1m up front and another £1m over 48 months, you'd have to be able to fund £1m + 12/48*£1m or a total of £1.25m from your current transfer budget.
