I only use those now. Have one tactic which i only adjust through TI during match.As for are they effective...well i am 2nd in EPL with Sunderland and advanced in 1st Knockout phase of CL (finished 4th last season in EPL),lost total of 1 game whole season so far, and that's with fairly average team.

My tactic wouldn't work without 'Work Ball Into Box'. 'Get Ball Forward' can be very effective too, as can 'Hassle Opponents'

It's not always obvious that they work, particularly if it's one way traffic against you though.

I suppose, as in the real game, you can only get tactics to work if you've got the ball !

I have some touchline instructions. I had save them when making my tactics in Demo. And I think it saved all and I can shout all start of the game automatically.

touchline instructions are a gamble in that they can work but can also backfire. You have to develop that skill over time, I think. You need to know when to use each one. I used a downloaded game player guide to find out when to use each one.

Touchline shouts that I have found to work effectivly are Exploit Flanks combined with Pump Ball into Box.

I have got this working in Control and Counter Attack modes.

To hold on to a result I go to Defensive and employ Retain Possession.

Only really when I'm a goal or two down, particularly away from home I think - fook it - I'll sling on another striker and tell them to "Get Ball Forward" and "Pump Ball Into Box". I've gotten goals from it, although whether it's due to that or not I don't know...

Question - wont exploit flanks and pump ball into box sort of contradict each other?

I though Exploit flanks, means getting the ball down the flanks quickly. Pump ball into box to me suggests that your midfielder / defenders will just hit the ball long into the box.

That is what i thought, but my wide men are are putting in wild crosses, which with a tall poacher in the box is paying dividends.

I am yet to use them there is too many that confuse me!

I do perfectly well without them though to be fair

I have found them to be effective with a determined team. They seem to respond to any of your instructions, but a line-up without that criteria usually won't be effective for me using instructions outside of attack, overload, defensive, etc.

I use them towards end of game to tighten up but sometimes they remain pending for ages surely they should be instant?

I have found that if you close the window before the instruction becomes active then they will stay pending, the become active at first break of play.

I use them throughout the game depending on what strategy I'm using and how the other team is approaching the game.

yes to both at york city i always say get the ball forward and pass to feet and it always seems to work with my team passing the ball around the opposition with ease leading to more than regulary very good wins with michael gash banging them in =]

I never use them. They generally don't work well with tactics where I've overwritten instructions

If the game not work well for me then I use it. The effect is vary, but mostly I can say it has good effect on my game.

I used to use them all the time, mainly "Exploit the Flanks", "Get Ball Forward", "Get Stuck In" & "Stay on Feet" but since chnaging tactic I've not used them at all really. Maybe the odd "Stay on Feet" if I've picked up too many yellows or "Get Stuck In" if I haven't.

i use them occasionally. i tend to use 'get stuck in' when playing rivals, 'get ball forward' when i am on the back foot and 'work ball into box' when my players insist on shooting from long distance every 2 seconds.

I would like to use them, however I prefer the use of the sliders. I find after years of fine tuning I can control my team more accurately and the cohesion of my team is far better.

i saved my tactic at halftime and before next game I applied that tactic...
