Laptop Help - Please

Hi all eventually got round to buying fm10 today

started a game and all running fine and at good speed then all of a sudden it becomes really unresponsive like when i click on something it takes ages to the point where its unplayable

i have a laptop with vista about 2 years old

i know there is a way that i can post my computer spec info and that may allow someone to help

so if someone could tell me how to do that and maybe suggest how to fix the problem id be very grateful - i think it may be the display driver but i have clicked on the automatically check for updates thing and it says im up to date

please help as the game looks great and i want to get playing!

You said you only got the game today so have you installed the patch yet? You wont need to do this if you are using steam as its done automatically.

no i just downloaded it and ran it

looks like im spending 400 quid on a new laptop as no answer to why it wont run

it should run the patch fixes a memory leak once its patched it should be fine

I've experienced slow-down when a large number of players (I mean thousands) have been highlighted/selected using the multi-select feature. Un-selecting them sorted it for me instantly.

Does it lag before it becomes not responsive?

Does it use intregrated graphics?

What was the error message you got? If it was asking you what to open the patch with then you have to do as previously advised and rename the patch and add .exe to the end of the filename.

If you are using steam do not try to download and install the patch yourself as this will cause problems.

You should also download and install the latest version of both directx and java.

didnt use steam after last years debacle i just used the cd and downloaded the patch myself which would not install

no error messages on the game just huge delays between clicking on an option and it working

uninstalled and reinstalled this time using steam but still exactly the same problem

try playing in compatability mode, select windows xp it might help
