Hershie
Presumably by coming 8th you have done nothing of significance and, if anything, performed below the expectations and reputation of the team. Unless you've had European or domestic cup successes, your coefficient for the season is likely to be very low. As it's averaged over a period of 5 years (iirc), this may have lowered your overall score, and thus your position in the rankings.
Kyno
Those rankings are almost entirely based on your European competetion. It keeps your last 5 seasons, so perhaps in 06/07 Newcastle were in Europe, and now they've lost that year's ranking points? I'll have a look for you. Edit- Yep, in 06/07 Newcastle gained 22 points from being in Europe (27 in 04/05 if you're interested). So you've lost that year. You'll shoot back up when you go back into Europe
BigCisHere
Yeah, it's based on how you do in Europe and not on domestic form. So if you don't qualify for Europe, you only gain a basic few points, which can cost you significantly. Assuming those other teams around you played in Europe in the last few years.
