Steam - Preparing to launch football manager

Then nothing.

Been playing FM for the past couple of weeks fine. Turn PC on tonight and click on game in steam and get this?

It goes to load and nothing happens.

Cant we play it without going through steam

You can play without steam if it's a boxed version and you manually install the patch,you got to have the disc in though,works great for me.

It's most likely because something went wrong with downloading the mini-patch. Just restart Steam and try again.

And sure you can run it without Steam. You'll have to reinstall and re-validate it through a different method, and patch it yourself, and it won't solve all the crashdumps that people are nonsensically blaming on Steam, but go for it.

So the crash dumps have been attributed to Steam?

When was the mini patch mate? I been playing it all day yesterday.

I digitally downloaded the game also.

The mini-patch was released a few hours ago.

Having digitally downloaded the game, your chances of playing non-Steam have been reduced. If you downloaded by Steam, your only option is to make a shortcut on the desktop instead and run it that way.

So thats the bugger then ay? I'll just go to bed and let the night elves fix it.

I would still recommend restarting Steam to see if it works, but maybe a good night's rest will do the trick.

Can you try the following please.

Open Steam

Select "My Games"

Right Click "Football Manager 2010"

Select "Properties"

Select "Local Files"

Finally Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

And try again.

If that fails remove local content and re-download it (you can do this as many times as you like).

I've had this - I just manually disconnect my Internet, then start Steam again in offline mode and the game loads fine.

Now it won't let me open Steam guys.

Nowt loads up? just connecting steam account.

the rest did not work then.

any ideas? I have a full day of work and want to become highly stressed and scream at my PC all day when i concede.

Exit steam , go to steam folder , erase the clientregistry.blob ( or rename to clientregistry.bak) and start steam again

done that mate. still no joy.

have you changed firewall or anti virus recently?
