how do i use a database i made from the data editor?

many times i have tried to make a new save for a database and then try to play using that database, where i have tried to put my local club in a division as we are 1 tier below the BSS, and in the previous games i have been able to put them in and play as them, this time i have done it, and i have gone to make a new save database incase i want to start a new game as it was originally. Everytime that i have tried to do a new save, it has said that it has saved, then when i start a new game on the game, it doesnt the data base that i have created.

what am i doing wrong?

When you start a new game a box will pop up with the database you want to use (Will only be the default one unless SI release a new on), but there's a box in the bottom right marked changes, check that box and continue, then it will show your edited database, select that and you should be good to go

you mentioned a box appearing, no box came up, it just went straight to the leagues that i want to have in it.
