Not used to closing down - what to do with that message

Sometimes during a match my Assistant Manager will say someting like PlayerA "is not used to closing down opponents as often as asked to today".

Sometimes it's PlayerB is "used to closing down opponents more often than asked to today".

I set Closing Down lower for the first message for playerA and set closing down higher for the 2nd message for playerB.

But I still get the same messages for the same players.

What do the messages actually mean?

Has it anything to do with Creative Freedom?

Good question, I have no idea what to do and what exactly causes this. Anyone?

It's puzzling. I was informed that one of my players was used to closing opponents down more often than he was being asked to, despite his closing down slider being set to full. Perhaps he needed some extra opponents just to close down even more players.

By far my favourite bit about this message is that its utterly inconsistant.

I will play a game, with the exactly the same tactics, and same players. Only game one, nothing, game two, suddenly Aaron Ramsey isnt used to playing at this tempo. But his used to it again by the third game. And then two games later (again, unchanged tactics, same position) he suddenly isnt used to closing down as much as he has to today. Despite is being no different to what his been playing all season.

How do you suddenly because not used to playing the tactics you always play?

Maybe what it really means is that the person is struggling to do closing down on that specific day or maybe is doing a good job of closing down and so you could increase it slightly. Not sure though just a guess.

The message seems to be straight-forward but anything I do doesn't seem to take the message away.

So I'm puzzled by what the message means.
