The "luck" of the draw

Has anyone else had really weird cup draws?

I'm playing as Dunfermline and before the season starts you get a draw for the League Cup and Challenge Cup. Then you play them before the season begins. The draw and results:

Dunfermline 5-1 Dumbarton / Challenge Cup 1st Rnd

Dunfermline 6-0 Dumbarton / League Cup 1st Rnd

The exact same draw. It was a little surprising but i took it as a coincidence within the laws of probability. And i was through as expected. Great! Now for the second round draws...

Dunfermline 3-2 (AET) Queen of the South / League Cup 2nd Rnd

Dunfermline - Queen of the South / Challenge Cup 2nd Rnd

Erm... again identical. Both home, same opposition. Now, the laws of probability suggest these two identical cup runs are really unlikely. I have drawn Motherwell in the League Cup, but top tier teams don't play in the Challenge Cup so it has to end there.

Is anyone else finding anything a bit weird with their cup draws?

As you have said, top teir clubs don't participate in the Challenge Cup, and therefore there would be fewer teams to choose from in the draw, and therefore a higher possibility that what you have here would happen.

lol, this from fm 07, you will get the cup opponent is the one you will meet earliest in league if both clubs are being drawn in cup tie. Seasons seasons from fm 07, i have like :

-R.Madrid - Barca : (a) SC

-R.M - Barca : (a) Liga

-R.M - Barca : (h) SC

- R.M - Valencia : SC

- R.M - Xerez : Liga (however, Xerez dont play at SC this round anymore)

- R.M - Valencia : SC

- R.M - Valencia : Liga

some things like that

I'm Spurs and I almost ALWAYS get drawn against Arsenal in the cups.
