Quick Question - Scouting Reports

Hi all, this is my first FM, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I love this game, but I'm just having one problem. What do I need to do if I am unable to scout a player in game? I have a few players that I'm looking at to buy, but I only get a few or none of their stats/attributes, and if I try to get a report card on them, I have no option, it's either shortlist, or compare?

Generally, they're foreign players, so do I need to get, for example, a Spanish born scout to get report cards on Spanish players?

What club are you? If you are a smaller club you can be restricted to scouting certain areas. For instance a small UK club could only be allowed to scout in the UK and not abroad.

If that is the case you can offer him a trial at the club which will reveal all his stats when he arrives.

Yeah what Jonzil said. Seems like your Board are restricting where you can send your scouts. Go to the 'Board Room' screen and it will tell you what countries/regions you can scout.

As the club gets bigger or you move to a bigger club, you will see the available areas expand.

Ahh, yeah that's it. I'm restricted to England and Ireland, while the club is prepared to scout in France. That makes sense, I got a report on a young French striker and on all English players, haven't tried for any Irish players. Thanks a lot.

However, offering a trial will work, as far as showing attributes go?

Nvm, I can't offer trials to players at different clubs, I guess.

So it's really a blind guess, just hope they're good? Sorry for the double post.
