im playing as roma and have a young spanish right back who ive brought in and is looking promising but when a player comes back from injury the chances of him playing first team will be extremley limited. he is 18 at the moment so could eventually become a home grown player for my team which would be handy but what im asking is if i send him out on loan for a season will that year still count as being one of the three he needs to be a home grown player.

i think it only counts if hes loaned to a team in same country as u. So it wont count if hes sent to England,Spain etc but i could be wrong

would be loaning him to a team in italy so he will be home grown in nation just if i can have him home grown by club its that little bit better

I think as long as he stays in Italy, then he could still become "homegrown at club" I have several players I have loaned out that i brought to the club, but they are classed as homegrown at club/trained at club...
