lurkingwithintent
Meaning to post this for ages. Ticked 'Call me by my First Name' (or whatever it says), thinking the game would call me 'Jack' or 'Jack F' instead of 'Mr Franklin' but instead it just calls me 'F Jack' or 'Franklin Jack'. Either this is completely wrong and a mistake from SI OR the option needs to be renamed to 'Reverse my Names' (as I know in some parts of the world the conventions of surname/first name are different). Rice2cu
Yeah I get that too..... Ive been called a few names in my time but never "R Dave"
tonif
I think it's a sort of a bug. Just reverse out your first name and surname. And untick the option. You will simply be called "Jack".
lurkingwithintent
ANyway of doing that now, 3 years into the game?

jayahr
SI are aware that the option has caused irritation due to bad wording. It is indeed for Asians or others who are used to have the 'first' name last. I would expect to see a better wording there post patch 2.
Neji
I did this the first time I played the demo, not really knowing what it did. It's not a bug, as jayahr says, it's just really poorly though out wording.
Wee Aja
Yeah, tried it myself once. Load of old tosh.
aadam
SI are aware that the option has caused irritation due to bad wording. It is indeed for Asians or others who are used to have the 'first' name last. I guess Hungary may be the only nation outside of Asia who have their surnames first. It's just so kind from SI to care about us.
Blanchflower1
Well, I don't even have a surname to my name and I am an Indian!
fatboyjohnmulhern
I initially thought it was for people that consider themselves brazilian and have names like Kaka or something lol.
aadam
I initially thought it was for people that consider themselves brazilian and have names like Kaka or something lol. Again, I guess Hungary is the only country where the word 'kaka' means sh*t.
Lordarod
it means sh*t in turkish too. BTW. I never would have ticked it if I knew it would just reverse my names..
red rainbow
Again, I guess Hungary is the only country where the word 'kaka' means sh*t. ... Not much different in Italy, too... But we see him playing, and a name was never so far from reality... :D P.S. and consider I'm a FC Inter fan....
Bragenca
In Icelandic, Kaka means cake;)
Eken10
I'm from Japan and I think it is kind by SI to care about us. On this forum I write my name "Yoshihiro Ogawa", but of course it is, translated to european letters, "Ogawa Yoshihiro" in japanese.

manc101
You CAN change your name so it right using FMRTE, i did this and got annoyed by it but by using FMRTE you can change to right way round.
blurps11
I initially thought it was for people that consider themselves brazilian and have names like Kaka or something lol. That's what i thought as well. And it's not only the Brazilians, many Portugese, Spaniards, Turks, Portugese speaking Africans etc. will use their first name or a made up one in football. When it comes to coaches just think of Dunga, the current manager of the Brazilian national team. Maybe SI could just add both options ( and word them properly ), I have no idea if there is any demand for it though.
hannan300188
I think it's a sort of a bug. Just reverse out your first name and surname. And untick the option. You will simply be called "Jack". Its not a bug or anything like one lol. I'm almost sure its for the Asian community, i.e Chinese, Korean etc. example Park Ji-Sung but Park is actually the family name, hence his name is "reversed" and he is called by his surname 1st
Lordarod
You CAN change your name so it right using FMRTE, i did this and got annoyed by it but by using FMRTE you can change to right way round. You can only choose from existing names so if your name is uniqe like mine FMRTE is no use
bigdanio
this is set up for African/French nationals well above Asians. Bernard Mendy, Arnaud Mendy etc etc will all call themselves Mendy.
