TheRiddler
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this - it's not a huge issue, more of an irritation, and was wondering if there's anything I can do to stop it happening. I currently play on two laptops - one via the disc, and the otehr one using Steam (was installed via the disc, but authorised using Steam). On the disc install, it's fine. However on my personal laptop, which used Steam and Vista, fairly often the game window will minimise, showing me the desktop. Note, it's not a crash as I can simply restore the window, but was wondering if anyone has any idea why it's happening? I use Steam with other games and this doesn't happen. I do usually have a website open as well (usually this one in fact!), using Safari, if that has anything to do with it?
rinso
It could be down to your anti-virus software (AVG9 by any chance?!) Theres a setting in the preferences to do with "gaming mode" and I think thats what causes it to minimise...
TheRiddler
Ahh ok - and good guess by the way. Weird that it doesn;t happen with any other game though. I'll check the settings tonight to be sure - as I said, not a gaem breaker, just a bit irritating.
rinso
No problem, I remember reading about the same/similar problem in another thread... If that doesnnt help any, try running the game in "windowed" mode, rather than full-screen...
stevio11
I have AVG and run in windowed mode and have no problems
georgeysamaras
same problem. Does yours open an internet page showing the fm website?
TheRiddler
It doesn't open awebsite at all - I usually have this website open already and occasionally it minimizes the FM window. Not a huge problem, just a bit odd - especially as it doesn;t happen on my other laptop (which is non-Steam and non-Vista - and also doesn't use AVG)
