cato
Chelsea just poached my Asst Manager off me (Steve Round) so I need to appoint a new asst manager. What attributes would be best needed for one? or any recommendations Thanks
rockamaccarungdung
I tend to look for one with good tactical knowledge and judging ability so that he can give me a good idea of how good my team is. Then look for motivation/man management/discipline. Dont really care about there coaching abilities
bigdunk
Depends what you want them to do. If you let them do your teamtalks, then they need high motivation and man management etc. If you use the assistant team reports a lot, then they need high judging ability/potential. I always tend to go for ones with high working with youngsters too.

backpackant
Tactical knowledge (for advice on how to play) Motivating (to take press conferences and team talks) Judging ability (for team selection/advice on trialists etc) Man management if poss. Plus at least one other decent coaching attribute. I prefer tactical coaching, but not essential.
Deltaroad
JPA and JCA isn't that important as you can get a scout with 20JPA/CA and use him to read about players.
rockamaccarungdung
Not for your own players.
Deltaroad
Sorry should be get a coach with 20 PA CA and use him to gage players
rockamaccarungdung
Oddly it never occured to me to do it that way, must be the laziness of 2 extra mouse clicks that this would cause
cato
Would Mark Bowen been a good Asst Man?
Deltaroad
Last year Ass man was better had alot coaches willing to accept ass man roles. This year none of the coaches who had ass man qualities want to accept being an ass man. This years FM - tactical knowledge, man mangement motivation, determination are far important then PA CA judgement. Mark Brown is decent. Whether he will go Everton or not is another thing Oddly it never occured to me to do it that way, must be the laziness of 2 extra mouse clicks that this would cause I actually signed a coach just to do that, just to have a coach with 20 PA CA takes alot of weight away from signing an ass man with 20 JA CA. I also assign the coach to an areas with average training to take the weight of other coaches. So not all un-useful.
