Who gets how much money should be the manager's concern, thus it ought to be his call. Board telling "you can sign 15 key players for €7 million per year if you like but we will not allow you to pay €8 million for just one player" is rather silly me thinks. bardock Posted November 21, 2009 Share Posted November 21, 2009 It would matter IRL. Other players will feel they deserve as much so it'll cause them to ask for the same amount or walk. I'd imagine boards do this IRL as well. They cap the amount for that exact reason. They would also choose to do so to avoid having other new signings asking for crazy amounts.
