Registering players for Premiership

I've signed Pavlyuchenko for Pompey on the last day of the transfer window, but the news item before the confirmation that he'd signed was that I had to register my 25 players for the season.

The game wouldn't let me proceed until I clicked "submit", and now I can't add a squad number to my new signing. Does this mean I can't register him now until January?

Because that seems very unfair - in real life a manager would be allowed to submit a squad number for a player he knew was imminently signing that day. Besides, the news item said that the deadline for the squad numbers is set to expire "tomorrow", and it's still "today"!

Is there anything I can do?

No, theres a bug with players becoming unregistered which has happened to me 3 or 4 times. I suppose the only thing you can do is use a real time editor and make the player 21 so he doesnt have to be registered and then change his age back in the next reg period but I dont know if this will cause other problems.
