psychonaut
FM Version: 2010, with patch 1. Edits: Super Bladesman's England-to-level-10 file. DB: Large, with: England to lvl10, Scotland to SD3, N. Ireland to Div2, Ireland to Div1, and Wales. 2009 Crook Town English Northern League Div 2 History: Founded in 1889, Crook Town are an amateur English club currently playing in the English Northern League Division 2 (tier 10). The club play their home games at The Milfield Ground and possess basic training facilities and a very basic youth setup. The club is affectionately known as The Black and Ambers. Although The Black and Ambers are enduring a 46-year barren spell, having not won a competition since 1963, the club still have a history of which they can be justly proud. Crook won the English 9th tier five times, and finished runners-up on seven occasions, and finished runners-up in the English 10th tier for the only time in 1995. During the 1910s and 1920s Crook Town played F.C. Barcelona in a series of ten friendly games, beating them twice. This unlikely bond developed between the two clubs due to one of Crook Town’s most notable former players, who later played for and managed Barcelona. ---------- So, arriving in Crook, Co. Durham, it seems like I'm set for an almighty challenge. The Chairman and staff are quite receptive, but they haven't made their ambitions clear. One of the back room staff suggests we concentrate on homegrown talent, but there isn't the money to upgrade youth facilities. In fact, there's no money at all. It's time for The Black and Ambers to sort that out! I just hope I'm the right man for the job...

psychonaut
The football's more like rugby at this level. The ball goes up over the bar 102 times per match, and we've had 2 players fighting in our first 2 friendlies. Just signed a 55 y.o. defender. I hope he's still with us by the end of the season - still alive, that is

psychonaut
2009-2010 Crook Town (English Northern League Div 2) Board: Safe mid-table position. Media: 7th. League A bit of a slow start to the season at first, but it turned into an absolute stormer. I must be a master tactician now, or else the team just got their heads down. We went on a 21 game unbeaten run in the league (annoyingly FM10 says it's only 11 games! Bug, anyone?) Needless to say, the team climbed to the giddy heights of 2nd, in what turned out to be quite a race to the finish. Sadly, a couple of draws in our last 4 matches cost us top spot. Into a play-off then. We hosted Portishead Town (of the English Western Legue Div 1), and stuck a goal past them in each half. One tier down, 8 to go. psychonaut
2010-2011 ====Crook Town==== Northern League Div 1 Board: Respectable league position. Media: 9th So my second season in charge at Milfield kicked off. The Board decided that the club should turn semi-pro, which was not good for club finances. We finished the season about £25k in the red. Llangefni Town (Wales) and Moyola Park (N.I.) both tried to poach me, but I stayed committed to The Black and Ambers. League How was the football? At first, so bright, 2 wins on the trot. And then, WHAM! dropped like a stone. Our form was terrible, matchday attendances dropped below 100, and at one point I was a loss away from being sacked. The root of the problems was probably me chopping and changing the tactics every match, so I decided to leave well alone, and form picked up again. The threat of a sacking vanished as we headed up the table, eventually finishing 8th. End of Season Table Crook Town Table Positions Throughout The Season Cups FA Cup: 1st Qual. Rnd Vs Cowes. Quite a number of players were shown the door - including one at half time on a matchday. Liam Atkin. In his final 3 games for the club, he got ratings of 5.2, 4.9 and 3.9. Out he went!!! Tried in vain to cut loose the deadwood and help the club finances, but it's not working so far. Crook Town Transfers The main talking point though was the announcement by Alan Gracey that he would be retiring at the end of the season. He went out in style, scoring with a cracking free kick in the last game of the season - bringing his tally to 3 for the season. Not bad for a 57 year old! Happy Retirement! Just awful. Apart from a couple of rays of sunshine in some cups. Strikers just could not find the net, and the defenders gift wrapped equalisers and winning goals for the opposition. Neath (PWP) tried to tempt me away mid-season. I should have gone as they won the PWP and will be in the Champions League next season. Dundee (SD1) approach me at the end of the season, and I'm tempted...Very tempted. So much so that I'm packing up my things and heading up to the Windy City next season. psychonaut
2012 Dundee Scottish League Division One History Founded in 1893, Dundee are a professional Scottish club, currently playing in the Scottish First Division. The club play their home games at Dens Park Stadium and possess adequate training facilities and an average youth setup. The club is affectionately known as The Dees and retains a fierce rivalry with Dundee United. Having enjoyed their greatest spell of success during the 1990s, The Dees are one of the most successful clubs in Scotland. Boasting a proud total of 40 competition wins. Highlights: Winning the SPL in 1962. Winning the Scottish Cup in 1910, and the League Cup in 1952, 1953, and 1974. Pre-Season So, I settle into life at Dens Park, watching a satisfying 8-0 thumping of GH Academy. I've made a couple of signings so far - most odd of all is our mystery man striker. He's got no name, and no one knows where he was born. To make life easier I've nicknamed him Bagatelle Bill because of his adeptness in front of goal so far. psychonaut
2012 - 2013 ==== DUNDEE ==== Scottish Division 1 SEASON SUMMARY Lucky to still be in a job. The board had wanted a title challenge. The division was incredibly competitive this year, with five teams all itching to get their mits on the title. Sadly, during the last third of the season we slipped up big time. The team gave away points too easily, and there were calls of "McEwan out!" from the stands. Lost the last game of the season to Partick Thistle, finishing 6th, and I really expected to be given my P45 - however, I'm still in a job. Next season is going to be a rocky road... League Table Season Progress CUPS Scottish Cup: 5th Round, lost 1-0 vs Dunfermline. Scottish League Cup: 3rd Round, lost 2-1 vs Falkirk. Scottish League Challenge Cup: Runners Up, lost 2-1 aet vs Airdrie Utd (damned o.g. ) SQUAD Big changes. Brought lots of new signings in, kicked out the hopeless causes. Most new signings performed well. Bit disappointed in Thomas Hitchcock, our £1.2M signing from Blackburn. He was voted worst signing of the season, and I wouldn't argue with that - his form was irregular, mostly poor. Was impressed by Steve Morison, who banged in 17 goals this season. Nobby_McDonald
Lots of local teams going down - Stoke, Stafford, Market Drayton and Kidsgrove. And three teams getting relegated from the Isthmian/Northern/Southern First Division regionals?
psychonaut
And three teams getting relegated from the Isthmian/Northern/Southern First Division regionals? Yep. Good old Bladesman - or young, doesn't say what age he is.
psychonaut
2013-2014 Update Season is off to a flyer. We've won our first 3 league games, and Dundee sit top of the division. Things are looking bright this year. And we may have a rising star at the club - Giorgios Moschou, 20, signed from Olympiakos in the summer. His debut match was against SPL team Queen of the South in the League Cup. We were 1-0 down. Moschau came off the subs bench. Talk about an impact! psychonaut
Should use Uncle Ron's package then. I might do...Perhaps Bladesman's got some team reputations wrong - hence my swift rise to Scots Div 1...But I fancied playing from lvl
psychonaut
Right-o, since there are problems-a-plenty with Bladesman's mammoth league expansion, I'm canning this save, and defecting to Uncle Ron. Bye bye Dundee - crap city anyway, nothing to do there except drink beer and have a fight. I've been half a dozen times though. Any Mods dropping by, please padlock!
