Chelsea Can't sign-Despite having embargo Lifted

Recommended Posts

Go to start/localdiskc/Program Files/Sports Interactive/FM2010/Data/db/1000/edt

The open the file 'transfer_embargo' with notepad. Then delete the line

"TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Chelsea" "03/09/2009" "03/09/2010"

Just above the Bournemouth line.

Then click file and save.

P.s. These changes won't work on your save game, They will only take effect when you start a new game.

So does that mean If you use the above info you could give a team a transfer embargo? buy adding say Accrington instead of chelsea?

That right. Adding any team to the above edt would give them a transfer embargo. But doing this is a tad unrealistic dont you think.

It's not working though.

If i delete the file will the game still work?

In what way is it not working? When you saved the file does it have a .txt extension on the end of the filename? If so then this is the problem. Simply rename the file and remove the .txt part. In future when saving the file select save as and in the save as type box make sure that all files is selected. You'll also have to start a new game before any changes you've made will work.

An idea for an experiment would be to stagger the embargos.. no embargo for Conference and below, 5 years for League 2, 10 for League 1, 15 for Championsip and 20 for Premier League.

It would be interesting to see who climbs the highest and falls the lowest
