trekman
How much ram have you got and what other stuff are you running at the same time as fm? It would also help to say how many leagues your running and what database size youre using.
Maidel
DAtabase size is almost always the issue - it seems to happen with games where the player has loaded a ridiculous number of players.
Chris4Everton
4gb, a lot of leagues 20 from 5 nations large database no other stuff. 29000 players
Grecian_03
You really shouldn't be out of memory then. Memory leak would be the cause.
Maidel
was that the recommended set up when you started the game, or did you go mad an add a load more stuff than the game recommended?

trekman
Try downloading and installing game booster to see if that helps. http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html This will stop windows running anything it doesn't really need to function correctly which should free up memory. If you have a virus scanner make sure that it is ignoring any folders that fm uses then run a scan to see if anything unusual turns up. If you havent done so already and are not using steam then download the patch and install.
Maidel
recommended is 4 leagues but i said that for last few fm's but loaded more and never crashed like this Well thats your problem then. If the game recommended 4 leagues and you are running 20...
Grecian_03
Recommendation's messed up, but I'm sure he meant four nations anyway. With his 4Gb he can easily run 20 leagues and 29,000 players.
Maidel
My understanding is that the STARs are messed up - not the recommended set up. And RAM is not the only thing required to run the game. Firstly - the game can only use 2gig of the ram so ignore the other 2, thats helping with the operating system. Can the motherboard handle that ram? Can the processor use it? There are stacks of things that will affect whether he can run that large a database, not just the RAM. Saying that 4 GIG of ram can handle that is exactly the same as saying that a car with a 4.0litre engine can go at 200mph without knowing if its even got any wheels!
