U-21

Hi there. I just done a search to see if anyone has asked this before but I couldn't see anything.

In my 3rd season a lot of Under-21 news feeds are coming through saying "X is looking for a new U-21 manager." Can we apply manage these Under-21 teams? If so is this a new feature as I dont remember this in FM09.

Yes you can apply for those jobs, just checked with England and you can apply for the U20 so it be the same for U21 (:

Does anyone know if you can do it from the start or does it need to be something that happens during the game?

Yes, when you go to add a manager, click on England and click on U21 and then 'take control'

you can start as an under 19 or under 21 manager. When you add new manager, instead of picking one of the teams listed, click on any national flag you see, for e.g. Scottish flag, this will come up with national side, click on u21 or u19 and the take control should be there.

I played as under 21 scotland manager in last FM, but this is the first time ive seen you being able to apply for the job during the game.

I think it's slightly bugged though - read in another thread a couple of days ago where players were applying for U21 jobs, receiving a confirmation, and never hearing anything again AND the position remained vacant years after!
