Tips on how to tell which role is best for a player?

Hi all,

I think i'm struggling with figuring out what role to assign a player. I know often it will vary team by team and the tactics of the match in which you'll play but generally speaking you'll be assigning the same role to each player.

For example, with strikers all i ever seem to use is Advanced Forward and Supporting Forward as thats all i can seem to think the strikers will be. What clues do you guys look for to decide this? Obviously its much easier if its an established player that you know about aswell.

Secondly, out of itnerest what role would you guys give say Robinho?

The game highlights the key attributes for each role for you. All I do is count the "green" attributes.

When you look at the different roles it shows the players stats below it, and it highlights which stats are important for that role, so you can help decide what is best from that.

Personally for Robinho I would play him on the left wing as an Inside Forward - Attack I think.
