Playing a network game

I am having trouble playing a network game.

I set the game up as the norm tick the 'run as server' take not of the IP address and tell my friend to type that it and all it keeps coming up with is can not connect to server.

Please can someone help

Are all Network games slow on one end?

For example;

- If I am the Host, gameplay is absolutely fine for me, I click on things and it is there instantly. Where as my mate connected to it, says there is lag between scrolling and clicking on players. He says he would click on something and it would take 3-5 seconds to load it up.

- And, it is exactly the same for me, when I am connected to him? Is this normal? If it is, then I don't find it fun at all It is the first time I have ever done a network game on any FM Series.

I had the exact same problem! Best thing to do is use LogMeIn Hamachi...

when it runs you set up a network in hamachi, give your friend the details and they connect. You then get a different ip address to use and when you plug that into FM it works a treat.

Have been using it for last 3 versions of FM with great results.
